IAP-WiSTEMM’s Initiative: Introducing “SWATI” – Science for Women: A Technology and Innovation
IAP-WiSTEMM is proud to unveil “SWATI,” an interactive platform designed to serve as a database of Women in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) in India. Developed, hosted, and maintained by the NIPGR-HRD Cell, this pioneering initiative receives generous support from the Department of Biotechnology DBT).
With a vision to encompass every Indian woman in science across various career stages and subjects within Academia and Industry, SWATI represents a significant milestone in promoting equality and diversity in the Indian STEM landscape. This dynamic platform enables long-term research on critical issues while providing an accessible and user-friendly search engine and database. By fostering networking and recognition, SWATI empowers women in STEMM and advances toward a more inclusive and innovative future for the entire scientific community in India.

Inclusive Representation: At SWATI, our foremost objective is to ensure the inclusion of each and every Indian Woman in Science (WiS), regardless of their career stage or subject of expertise. By embracing a holistic approach that encompasses Academia and Industry, we aspire to provide a comprehensive and accurate representation of the diversity within the STEM landscape in India.
Facilitating Research on Equality and Diversity: Our platform seeks to actively support and promote research initiatives focused on equality, diversity, and inclusivity within the Indian STEM ecosystem. By collating and curating data from a wide spectrum of contributors, we aim to facilitate statistically significant long-term research that delves into the challenges and opportunities faced by women in STEM
fields.
